Bollywood ecstatic with 'Return of Salman Khan'

Salman Khan's WANTED has hit the bulls eye. It is now into its second week but the first week collections have already ensured a HIT status for this Prabhu Deva directed film. Boasting of the best ever opening collections of a Salman Khan starrer ever, WANTED has thrilled Bollywood fraternity which is now rooting for the 'bad turned good' boy all over again.

DAVID DHAWAN

DAVID DHAWAN

Says film maker David Dhawan, Salman's friend who has worked with him in more than half a dozen films, ''Salman Khan always knew when and where to strike. He was always very confident about WANTED and this is the reason why he went all out to promote the film. Forget first weekend collections; it was sheer havoc when Id festivities began. Audience response inside auditoriums was unprecedented.''

WANTED has now completed a trilogy of sorts for 'masala' films. After Shah Rukh Khan's OM SHANTI OM and Aamir Khan's GHAJINI, now Salman Khan has scored in a big way with WANTED which has got raw action-n-drama back in vogue.

So delighted was Julia meeting Sharmila, that she immediately expressed her desire to meet Sharmila's son, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and his beloved Kareena Kapoor.

Soha Ali Khan: I was reluctant to kiss Emraan

TUM MILE has managed to be in constant gaze of audience by some or the other news. The recent hum is that always known with the serial kisser tag, Emraan Hashmi, was left amazed when his co-star Soha Ali Khan showed signs of uneasiness to kiss Emraan on screen. The otherwise bold actress was seen quite cautious while kissing Emraan; she required lot of convincing from the director Kunal Deshmukh to shoot the second kissing scene that was later added in order to make the song look more pragmatic and appealing.

On this Kunal Deshmukh says ''I told Soha at the outset that the script demanded a kissing scene since both of this couple are into Live in Relationship and they need to look romantically involved with each other, so she agreed to do kissing scene but when after the song was getting finalized I felt that there was requirement for another kiss that made Soha a little sore and she had second thoughts in her mind. Finally on my insistence she understood the need of the script & agreed to do the scene''

Akshay-John back together!

A. R. Rahman has finally said yes to another Bollywood project, in spite of his various international projects. He will be scoring music for Tony D’Souza’s next film.

The Blue director is already going places. His maiden underwater thriller is yet to be out. But Tony has already convinced his producers Ashtavinayak to produce his next.

It will star Akshay Kumar, but no Sanjay Dutt. Instead it will bring John into an action combination with Akshay.

The two have so far only been seen in a comedy Priyadarshan’s Garam Masala after which the senior actor was accused of tampering with John’s role. The charge was vehemently denied by both the actors.

But the bitterness remained…until now.

Says Tony, “Akshay was on board for the next project from the word go. After Blue I can’t dream of making a film without him. Blue couldn’t have been made without Akshay. As for John, it’s strange with his physique and body language he has never done a full-on action film.”

Tony sees the twosome not in the comic mould but in the slick stunt space.

The film to start early next year will have never-before action. “If I was a member of the audience I’d want to see the two together in the kind of stunts never seen before.”

After going underwater in Blue we’d be seeing the director indulge in a lot of aerial stunts in his next.

Double bonanza with Salman Khan

Its going to be double bonanza to see Salman in a double role in Boney Kapoor’s next, the sequel of No Entry. It seems after the hit of WANTED, Boney is again basking on Salman’s popularity by continuing their bond with the sequel. Though part one could not get its shares on the box office collection but the producer is sure that the sequel will do the needful.

As per our khabroo, “Boney has already announced about the flick which will be called, Be Positive – No Entry part 2.”

The film will be directed by Anees and with some old faces of No Entry; one will also see new faces. “Esha, Lara and Bipasha are definitely going to be the part of the flick but with that the producer is also planning to bring in fresh new faces for the double roles,” adds the source.

AKSHAY KUMAR and KATRINA KAIF

AKSHAY KUMAR and KATRINA KAIF

It seems that after cricket, football and hockey, Bollywood and its top stars are also trying to do their little bit for promoting other sports as well.

As per the information available with us, top stars (and hit on-screen couple!) Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are all set to promote the upcoming 34th National Games, to be held in Jharkhand, from the 21st November-5th December, 2009.

As per the details, Akshay and Katrina will be meeting the fourth estate in Bombay, New Delhi, Calcutta, Bangalore and many other Metros and will try to get attention of the people towards the National Games in Jharkhand.

There is also news that top Punjabi Pop singer, Daler Mehdi will be participating in a cultural program, to be held on 12th October 2009, in Hotwar's (Ranchi) Gymnastic stadium for the same purpose.

Salman starrer makes 70 per cent more business in single screens than multiplexes in its first week!

Boney Kapoor's latest release, WANTED, seems to herald the return of single screen theatres in Mumbai. While figures were too premature to be given for single screens alone, one of the trade analysts, said WANTED did business of approximately Rs 35 to Rs 38 crore across India in just a week.

The latest trade figures indicate that WANTED has 70 per cent more business than multiplexes, a view echoed by exhibitors and trade experts across Mumbai.

Who is Salman Khan's true fan?

SALMAN KHAN WITH HARRY JOSH

Even after getting beaten black and blue by the macho Salman Khan in his latest flick WANTED, Harry Josh still believes that his real hero is Salman!

Poor Sushmita is having a tough time

It seems like our dazzling Sushmita Sen is having a tough time sticking in the industry as a mainstream actress. Apparently, she didn’t get quiet a good opportunity to even sing and dance in the movie ‘Do Knot Disturb’.

The song named ‘Bebo’ from the film ‘Do Knot Disturb’ is climbing up the charts, but the music video only features Ritesh Deshmukh and Lara Dutta. Along with this music video, there is another remix video of ‘Bebo’, which features Govinda, Sushmita Sen and Ritesh Deshmukh.

Supposedly this remix video was shot, after the film was shot, since Sushmita Sen wanted to be a part of it. It is very evident that Sushmita Sen is doing another heroine’s remix dance number.

SRK and Rituparna Sengupta to tie the knot

Fikar not, this knot is not going to be tied in real life. Bollywood’s King Shah Rukh Khan and Tollywood Queen would be playing husband and wife in an ad film for Emami’s Chyawanprash, for which they are going to be shooting in Mumbai’s Film City. SRK plays a commoner in the ad and Rituparna is his wife. And, of course, it’s the chyawanprash that keeps them together.

Well, SRK and Rituparna have a connection, Rituparna is doing a film called SRK with Vinay Pathak and she even cheered his Kolkata Knight Riders in the first IPL season.

Now that she is working with him, she is highly excited and nervous The ad film will be directed by Ram Madhvani of Equinox FIlms, who directed the song ‘Bheja kum’ in Taare Zameen Par. Madhvani admits that he is looking forward to working with the Bong beauty for the first time.

The ad will be on-air October end. Rituparna who is very excited says, “I was the brand ambassador of Emami Boroplus for Eastern Region, and now also I am shooting for Emami. I had met SRK, a couple of times during the IPL Knight Riders Match in Kolkata. Actually, I was invited to see the match. That time we had lots of fun. This time too, I am very excited.”

Priyanka Chopra signs Vishal Bhardwaj's next; will play 7 roles

After playing 12 roles of bride-to-be in What's Your Raashee?, Priyanka Chopra is finally playing the role of a bride, not to one man but seven different men. The actress is gearing up for yet another multiple role in Vishal Bhardwaj's next titled 7 Husbands.

A source reveals, "Vishal was very impressed with Priyanka while working with her inKaminey. He always referred to her as a dedicated and devoted actress. While scripting for 7 Husbands, without any second thought, he made up his mind to cast the actress in the movie. Vishal also had seen the rushes and promos of What's Your Raashee? with her 12 different avatars and thought she carried it off really well and could do justice to her film."

The source continues, "In 7 Husbands, Priyanka will again be seen in seven different avatars of wives to seven different men. She will have different get ups for each wife. The seven different actors for the role of husbands haven't been finalized as yet. They are in look out for serious actors who might not be A-listers."

"The movie is still in the scripting process. The movie will go on floors next year after Priyanka's dates are available and the seven actors are finalized," adds the source.

Priyanka Chopra remained unavailable for the comment.

"I hope the pirated copy will not be cut" - Ashutosh Gowariker

Hours before the release of his new magnum opus What's Your Raashee? Ashutosh Gowariker is running around trying to understand where and how the master print of his film was allegedly stolen and pirated from the lab.

"I've been traveling to Toronto and then to Ahmedabad, so I'm not aware of the full situation. However, it's a scary and sobering thought that films have been going out for piracy from the lab. I'm glad they were caught out when my film was smuggled out. We don't know the extent of the damage. I can only be thankful my master print was retrieved. Just how many copies were made we don't know."

Choosing to see the lighter side of the extremely grim situation, Ashutosh says, "I hope the pirates didn't cut the film. I don't want them to watch an incomplete film."

"I have learnt a lot from Harman" - Priyanka Chopra

If one goes down the memory lane, one can comfortably say that with What's Your Raashee?, Priyanka Chopra may well be boasting of the biggest ever film written for a woman protagonist in the history of Indian cinema. After all, 80 years after legendary British actor Lupino Lane created a (yet unbroken) record for a male actor playing 24 roles in one single film, Only Me (1929), Priyanka Chopra is all set to emulate a similar feat when it comes to female actors. In What's Your Raashee(2009), she plays 12 different roles and the film has already been referred to Guinness Book of World Records for further consideration.

While there have been quite a few double role performances by leading ladies in the past, there aren't many movies where a Bollywood actress has played even a triple role, let aside coming close to enacting a dozen odd characters in a single outing. Even as the film is just a few hours away from release, Joginder Tuteja catches up with the Priyanka and gets conversing around the ego boost that she must have got once Ashutosh Gowariker approached her for the role. She also chats about the complexities involved in bringing the 12 characters alive on screen, her friendship with Harman Baweja as well as the contribution that he has made in her rise as a top Bollywood actor.

The moment Ashutosh Gowariker broke the news to you that you would be playing 12 characters in What's Your Raashee?, what was your first thought? Were you already thinking of a record?

Record? That thought just came and went. What was of paramount importance was the fact that I had to play 12 characters, all of whom belonged to the same age group. See, if an actor is required to play different roles but belonging to different age groups and social milieus, then I guess comparatively it is still manageable. You can make use of prosthetics, bring a difference in the way they talk and get a different cultural background. Yahan kya karte? After all each of the girls here was a Gujarati, lived in Mumbai and were all a marriage material.

Not really an easy place to get some differentiation running...
Not at all. Working in films is not as easy as you think from outside. You have to treat each of your assignment as an art and craft. You have to do a lot of things even if your film is a rom-com. Frankly, it was not an easy role to do as it may sound to you as an audience. For playing these 12 characters differently, I had to change my body language and personality practically every day of the shoot. What's Your Raashee? has indeed been the most challenging role of my career. We were all pretty clear that we couldn't take the film lightly. For this reason, we also did one and a half months of research to get the right personality traits as per different 'raashees'!

With so many complexities involved, did you just leave yourself in the able hands of Ashutosh Gowariker and follow his instructions?

See, when a director gives a script to an actor, lot of work is already etched on paper. Still, if you are an actor who wishes to contribute to the written material as well, you have to bring in a lot of your own self too. It is an amalgamation of vision of both the director and an actor. Just like a director cannot make a good film just on the basis of a script, similarly an actor too just can't rise above the script and rock the show on his/her own. Clichéd as it may sound but the fact remains that it is all a team work.

Ashutosh says that it is a 'smile through' film. How would you like to call it as? Candy floss?
Really, I don't understand the definition of candy floss! What I know for sure is that this film is entertaining, intelligent, funny, real, light hearted and quite humorous. And no, it doesn't turn slapstick at all. It is a film that you can go for with your family.

Coming to your co-star Harman, since you have already done around 30 odd films while he has been seen in only two (which were unfortunately unsuccessful at the box office), did you play a mentor of sorts on the sets? Was it the case of you being a little protective about your co-star and hence came up with a shielding act?
Who am I to do that? No, I don't think I would have even thought of being responsible for his act in front of the camera. He is himself quite talented and on the contrary I have learnt a lot from Harman.

Really?

That's right. He knows a lot more than me about cinema since he comes from a filmmaking background. I have known him before I started working on films. I used to take his help in my career as an actor. We have been friends for five years now. While I have learnt everything on the job after making mistakes, he is trained and is much better placed. Rahi baat hits ya flops ki toh jaisa kehte hain naa, samay se pehley aur bhagya se zyaada kisi ko nahi milta!

The worry factor must certainly have been there though once both Love Story 2050 and Victory didn't work at the box office, isn't it?
But then there have been some of my own films that haven't worked at the box office, so what can one say about that? It is all a part of the business. We do not have any actor in the history of filmmaking who hasn't given flops.

'But where did Salman ever go?' - Industry reacts on Wanted success

Wanted is a huge success already and made people stand up and acknowledge Salman Khan's superstardom all over again. One of the rare action films in recent times to enjoy huge critical as well as commercial acclaim, Wanted has now completed a trilogy of sorts for 'masala' films. After Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om and Aamir Khan's Ghajini, now Salman Khan has scored in a big way with Wanted which has got raw action-n-drama back in vogue.

So is Salman Khan back after a rather poor run with Yuvvraaj and God Tussi Great Ho? Industry doesn't quite believe so. Don't be shocked because as per practically each and every film personality that this writer reached out to, the verdict is common - 'Salman Khan was never gone in the first place. He was, is and always would be a superstar.'

Abbas (of Abbas Mustan fame)- "He has always been a superstar. Also he can sense a good product from quite some distance. He had faith in Wanted and you have to see the way he went all out during last 45 days. He made sure that his fans and followers know what Wanted was all about and he is going to give them the kind of entertainment they were looking for. I am really happy for him."

Abhishek Kapoor - "Where did he go anyway? Salman is Salman, nothing like him!"

Arbaaz Khan - "Back from where? He didn't go anywhere!

Celina Jaitly - "Salman has always been WANTED. He is the only actor who is the most beloved no matter what. And that's what you call true stardom!"

David Dhawan - "On Monday, you should have tried passing through the road where Salman lives. Taking your car down the road was a challenge in itself, courtesy thousands of people who had assembled near his house to wish him Eid and congratulate him for the success of Wanted. Need I say more?"

Eesha Koppikhar - "You are talking about Salman? Did he go anywhere? He is the quintessential superstar. Wanted is just yet another feather in his cap. Wishing him an 'eid mubarak' and congratulations. Looking forward to his next movie."

Himesh Reshammiya - "Salman Khan was a superstar, is a superstar and will always remain a superstar."
Imtiaz Ali - "Salman never went away. He was always there, and will be. For a long, long time. People will always love him."

Jackie Shroff - "Where did he ever go?"

Jacqueline Fernandes - "Salman never left. He's always been Wanted!"

Ken Ghosh - "Salman had never gone anywhere to be back! He has always had a loyal fan base!"

Madhavan - "Where did Salman go in the first place to be back? He has just climbed much higher."

Milan Luthria - "The charisma of the three Khans - Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir - has been such over last two decades that you can never ever under-estimate them. It shows with Wanted where Salman Khan announced loud and clear that this was a film audiences had to watch."

Minissha LambaMinissha Lamba - "Salman was never gone. Wanted only proves that if there is a film that requires a raw action hero, it's only Salman who can make it work."

Neha Dhupia - "I have not seen the film but he looks very very promising in all the three films (Wanted, Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna, London Dreams). I have become a fan once again!"

Neil Nitin Mukesh - "A person needs to go to be back! He has just become even bigger, better and stronger!"

Pritam - "When did he go out to be back? He was, is and will be in mind and heart of everybody!

Ramesh Taurani - "To use the word 'back' for Salman is totally wrong. In spite of hits and flops, Salman was, is and will always be a huge star. I am really happy for him that Wanted is a huge success. Wishing him many more super hits in the future!"

Riteish Deshmukh - "Salman is a huge star. He is beyond hits and flops."

Sajid Khan - "Back?? Where did he go? He was always here!"

Sanjay Gadhvi - "Where had he gone that he is considered to be back? Salman is the original 'RockStar'. With Wanted, he's just reaffirmed his status as a star who is one of the most popular with the masses."

Sanjay GuptaSanjay Gupta - "Where did he go? He was always rocking; if not the big screen then he rocked the small screen and continued to rule hearts. And in any case, Salman is the kind of star who's beyond hits and flops."

Sanjay Kapoor - "After Partner, he didn't work in too many films. One can sense when he is excited about a project. He had faith in Wanted and that showed in the way he went all out in promoting the film. Weekend collections as well as Monday have been huge. I am quite confident that Wanted would be the biggest success of Salman's career in recent times and would even cross Partner."

Sonu Sood - "I feel he was always there. May be right films didn't happen. With Wanted he has proved that he is loved by the masses. I am sure he will always rock!"

Suparn Verma - "Where did the superstar go in the first place? The last ten years plus we have had the three Khan superstars rocking our world. Salman was, is and always will be a superstar!"

Tusshar Kapoor - "He had never really gone really!"

Vashu Bhagnani - "As soon as I saw the film, I immediately called up Salman and told him that he had just beaten the competition around him. His lion like walk towards the film's pre-climax still gives me goose bumps. He has shown the world through some extensive marketing and promotion that how he can give a huge charge if he is really-really interested in a film of his."

Vikram Bhatt - "Salman Khan went nowhere!"

Vipul Shah - "The Top-5 actors that we have in the industry today - Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman, Akshay and Hrithik - are a force. They may get an occasional flop or two but if their upcoming film shows promise, audiences are bound to throng theaters in dozens. It doesn't matter for them if their much moved star has a flop behind him because curiosity of them seeing him in a good film supersedes everything else."

Vivek Agnihotri - "Back? From where? USA ? UK? Did he go anywhere? Is media immigration officer? I think he was always here and shall be there. Rocking. He is the true rockstar."

Zoya Akhtar - "I haven't seen Wanted so can't comment on the film. But as far as I am concerned, he never went anywhere to come back. He is a super star despite his films not because of them!"

Dad ready to team up with Shahid

AMITABH BACHCHAN ACTS 12 YEARS OLD!

Well, actually screen legend Amitabh Bachchan is 66 years old but in his film Pa, Amitabh plays a twelve year old with a condition called Progeria. Progeria, according to the Progeria Research Foundation is a "rare, fatal genetic condition characterized by an appearance of accelerated aging in children."

At the helm of this intriguing project is R Balkrishnan aka Balki, who directed Big B in Cheeni Kum. In an earlier interview Balki said, "Pa would be a far more emotional story than Cheeni Kum. Big B plays a character he has never played before. It’s a very emotional father-son story. But the emotions won’t be melodramatic." If the story was not intriguing enough - if Big B is playing the son, who is playing the father? It is Abhishek Bachchan, who is playing daddy to his daddy, and Vidya Balan is cast as his mom.

Another interesting twist to this incredibly fascinating project is that in the credits Amitabh will be introduced as if it was his first film. Balki told Subhash K Jha, "The credits will read 'Starring Abhishek Bachchan ... Vidya Balan ... Introducing Amitabh Bachchan.' I truly believe this is Mr Bachchan's first film, because he has never played a 12-year-old. His character is named Auro ... No, it's not short for Aurobindo. He's just ... Auro. And if there are any members of the audience who haven't seen him before, they won't recognise him at all in the film."

It seems that in order to get into character for Auro, it not only took 6 hours of make up, it also saw Mr. Bachchan taking on the persona of a child - so much so that at some points he had to be disciplined, "Mr Bachchan behaved like a 10-year-old on the sets. He just allowed the child within him to surface to become Auro. He threw so many tantrums just like an uncontrollable child that we had to literally discipline him at times. On the sets, he would also stomp his feet like a brat and just go on whining, 'I want ... I want ... I want!' until he got what he wanted. We were frightened by the level he had imbibed his character."

The director added, "No matter how prepared you are as a filmmaker to work with this all-pervasive idol of an actor, you are still taken aback by what he does to his character."

Those are only a few little tidbits that have been let out of the remarkably closed set of Pa. If we hear anymore we will be sure to report it so keep your eye on this space for more!

Splitsville for Salman-Katrina?

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have shocked people with their coldness towards each other at Percept Picture Company’s party recently. The party, which was thrown to celebrate Kanchivaram’s National Award, win on Tuesday night was attended by both Salman and Katrina.

But they came in separately, spent time with different groups of people. Even though they came face-to-face, they didn’t interact with each other. They were at the party for around an hour and left alone. People who saw them at the party are now thinking if the two are even together anymore.

Katrina was a gracious host at Salman’s Id party a few days ago but he ignored her completely.

She says, “My size zero is what got the attention of an international clothes manufacturer. I will be launching a clothes line soon. I know that youngsters think of me as a fashion icon because of my current size. And, though I’m occasionally tempted to put on a couple of kilos, I personally feel that for the kind of high-fashion wardrobe I wore in Kambakkht Ishq, my current shape is right.”

Salman reborn with Wanted!

People are really gung-ho about ‘Wanted’ and the actor as well. The movie has successfully brought back the old masala flavour of Hindi cinema, with right mix of drama and action. With ‘Wanted’, Salman can truly be said to have won back his fans. He has sprung back to the screen with never-before liveliness. Or better still one can say that he has dusted out his youthful josh and given the best of his career in this. Looks like this Boney Kapoor’s Production will surely climb the ladder, higher than ‘Ghajini’.

The promotions have gone down very well and the team deserve the success. Salman’s appearance in Sony TV’s popular detective serial ‘CID’ had not only promoted ‘Wanted’ but it also served as an inspiration. The episode had stressed on the curbing of film privacy. It is reported that after the movie’s release Salman’s fans helped police to locate pirated CDs and DVDs from several places in Mumbai. Now, that’s really an achievement, right?

Prabu Deva’s direction and his choreography truly deserve a standing ovation. Mouthing punch dialogues, impressive pelvic moves, dhamaal dhishum-dhishum. His efforts to jazz up Sallu miyaan has finally paid off. We say - Salman has truly proved his jalwa this time! Go, keep pulling your collar up, Salman!

Mallika Sherawat’s connection with UNICEF

Alluring missy of B-town Mallika Sherawat has been getting herself involved in more social activities in recent times.

It was more illustrious with her arrival as a special guest at the Montblanc / UNICEF charity event held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles donning a colorful new dress designed by Max Azria of fashion house BCBG.

Apart from Mallika Sherawat, Hollywood ace actor English actor Michael York, host of the event, actor Billy Zane of "Titanic" fame and his date the Princess of Congo, Lord and Lady Hayes, among others.

After hearing from her followers on social networking site Twitter of their wishes to see her in a colorful outfit after being photographed in a series of black designer dresses, Miss Sherawat "wowed" the crowd with an elegant yellow dress by Mr. Azria. When Mallika asked about her far-faming talk all over the globe, the actress came up with a humble response that anything for a good cause is always best.

But she refused to speak anything on her forthcoming film ‘HISSS…’ when media channels questioned on her.

Bollywood's new trend: Women not allowed in music!

view TUM MILE videos

view TUM MILE videos

Are we going to see a revolution of sorts in months to come as far as soundtracks of Bollywood films is considered? That's because if one looks at the recent album releases like TUM MILE and LONDON DREAMS, there is something in common- 'There is no female singer roped in to render even a single track'.

Shocking, but indeed true!

Surprisingly, both the films are hardcore musicals. While TUM MILE comes from the house of Bhatts, it is but naturally a musical entertainer with Pritam churning out some fabulous tunes for this Emraan Hashmi starrer. Even though there are five distinct tracks in the film, each of them has been sung by a male vocalist, whether it is Neeraj Sridhar, K.K., Mohit Chauhan, Javed Ali or Shafqat Amanat Ali. For a romantic film like TUM MILE with Soha Ali Khan as the leading lady, it is indeed a surprising decision by the makers to keep the album completely male dominated. However, since the album is complete 'paisa vasool', one doesn't mind the aberration.

Salman's WANTED beats Aamir-Asin starrer GHAJINI!

AAMIR KHAN & SALMAN KHAN

AAMIR KHAN & SALMAN KHAN

The much hyped Eid battle between Salman Khan's WANTED and the Shahid-Rani starrer, DIL BOLE HADIPPA, is turning out to be quite one-sided in favour of WANTED. In fact WANTED has now started smashing some of the records of the All Time Blockbuster, Aamir Khan's GHAJINI.

This Monday saw WANTED netting around 7.35 crore from India, which is more than the corresponding total of GHAJINI on its first Monday. Not only that, on Tuesday WANTED once again netted around 6 crores, which is just about the same as that of GHAJINI at the same juncture.

CHECK OUT : WANTED - Salman's career best performance?

Of course the collections of GHAJINI were much higher than WANTED, during the first weekend, but what should be kept in mind is that GHAJINI had released during the Christmas festival and winter vacations, while WANTED released during the lean fasting period of Ramzaan and Navratra. So, the stats cannot be compared.

However one way or the other, we are sure that Aamir Khan will be very happy with his friend's scintillating comeback via WANTED.

For Shahid Kapoor 'F' words are a part of life!

download SHAHID KAPOOR wallpapers

Shahid Kapoor's speech defect in KAMINEY is now a fashion statement, and is being copied by the young and old. The actor not only essayed both his speech defect roles (a news that we broke, as usual, on April 14 - Shahid stammers when nervous! ) to perfection, but with the cute way in which he spoke, he won all the hearts, and we can now hear many trying to emulate his style by substituting 's' with 'f'.

School children, and especially the youth have picked up his style and made it into a fashion statement. We have had fans emulating hairstyles, dresses and walking, dancing styles of their favourite actors, but this is the first time in the history of cinema that the mannerisms relating to speech defect are being aped by so many.

Ranbir Kapoor's love has various shades!

Known as the 'eternal loverboy' of Bollywood, Rishi Kapoor, throughout his career span enchanted us with his lovey-dovey, romantic, sentimental antics. Now the proud son Ranbir Kapoor carries the legacy of playing the loverboy onscreen. But unlike the soft characters which his father portrayed over the years, newbie Ranbir's love has various shades which can be seen as follows:

RANBIR KAPOOR In SAAWARIYA

RANBIR KAPOOR In SAAWARIYA

SAAWARIYA - It's very rare to see a debutant beginning his career with a film, where he has to play a LOOSER IN LOVE. Despite of it, this handsome saawariya, without getting finicky, went ahead & played the role with utter sincerity and was accepted open-heartedly.

SRK has no time for Farah Khan’s film!

Shah Rukh Khan it seems is preferring to shoot Anubhav Sinha (Dus, Cash) directed action thriller Ra.1 rather than going in for Farah Khan’s Happy New Year after he completes My Name Is Khan. Both Ra.1 and Happy New Year are being made under the King Khan’s home banner Red Chillies Entertainment.

srk_1024x768.jpg (1024×768)

A source reveals, “SRK was earlier in two minds whether to go on floors first with Farah’s film or Anubhav Sinha’s. But apparently he has made up his mind to do the action adventure movie Ra.1, which has a superhero backdrop. It will begin shooting from early next year and will be extensively shot on foreign locations. Shah Rukh has already begun preparing for the role by working out on his physique and is again aiming to acquire 6-pack abs. He was also recently quoted stating, “I want to put on my tights and my kids blanket on my back. I want to do this film for my children. I’ve always wanted to make a superhero film, but I never had six-pack abs. Now that I have them, I want to do this. It’s not an animation film, as many people believe; I would like to clarify that. It’s a live action film.”

Farah Khan’s film, our source adds, will now go on floors in end of 2010.

I want to be with my son often: Akki

Aarav is one lucky kid, we say, to have such a loving father as Akshay Kumar. It is said that the actor doesn’t seem to have enough of his son and want to spend more time with him.

Akshay doesn’t want to miss the fun of Aarav’s growing-up days and so he is planning to bring a cut in his work hereafter. It looks like bonding with his son is more important than work. Sources had it that Akki would rather miss out on work than miss the chance to be with his son when he needs him the most. “I want to attend all his PTA meetings and functions in school. I want to drop him to school and also pick him up.

I want to do fun things with him including the two of us going on holidays. I want to go through all the experiences that will strengthen my bond with Aarav. For that, I have to cut down on my work,” said the actor.

Wow, how dear!

‘Do Knot Disturb’ team makes Salman go shirtless

Sallu miyaan is usually a sport to remove his shirt. But this time he went red in cheeks while stripping.

Recently, the team of ‘Do Knot Disturb’ was on the sets of ‘Dus ka Dum’ to promote their movie. Director David Dhawan, actors Govinda and Riteish Deshmukh - the contestants of the episode - were in their best spirits, pulling their host Salman Khan’s legs occasionally. They went to such an extent that they made Salman to remove his shirt!

They even encouraged the audience to cheer and support them. Now, finding himself in a tight spot and due to public demand, Salman sheepishly took off his shirt. Amidst hooting and whistles, the actor even did a small jig on his popular song, “O o Jaane jaana”, in his bare body.

Ohh, Sallu bangaye lallu!

I can now say that the industry has embraced me: Arjun Rampal

Arjun Rampal is back in town after shooting for Sajid Khan's HOUSEFULL which is almost complete. Even though his recent release FOX has come and gone, Arjun has already moved on and is now looking at his fresher set of projects. With movies like Prakash Jha's RAJNEETI and Karan Johar's STEPMOM under his belt, Arjun is also happy after getting a sense of belongingness in the industry.

"I have been around since 2001 when I had three releases PYAAR ISHQ AUR MOHABBAT, DEEWANAPAN and MOKSHA: SALVATION, all arriving back to back. After almost a decade in the industry, I can now proudly say that the industry has embraced me", says Arjun.

A young man from Delhi who has managed to find a slot for himself all on his own, he remembers the times when he was a complete outsider.

Aishwarya Rai loses to Madhuri Dixit

Both Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit proved to be excellent dancers when they danced together on ‘Dola Re’ for ‘Devdas’. But, now it seems Madhuri Dixit has won the race for the seat of the judge at a dance reality show. Rumors have it that both the beauties were being considered for judging ‘Dance Premier League’ with several Bollywood stars.

However, Aishwarya lost out to Madhuri as she quoted an exorbitant amount of money. The makers of the show couldn’t afford her and the opportunity fell into Madhuri’s favor as she had demanded an affordable price.

Madhuri’s long time friend and manager did not reveal much about it and simply said, “The discussion is still on.”

However, Danish Khan, the VP marketing of the entertainment channel acknowledged the truth and said, “Yes, Madhuri has been chosen to represent one of the teams.”

“I don’t want to talk about the money involved but Madhuri is definitely on board for Dance Premier League,” he added.

Our say- It is high time that the Bachchan Bahu realizes that she may definitely be one of the most beautiful faces of our tinsel town but with age taking a toll and fresh and promising faces entering the industry she has to accept some realities.

Has Bollywood lost Mallika Sherawat to Hollywood?

Seems that Bollywood has lost its bombshell Mallika Sherawat to Hollywood completely for the babe is being seen more at Hollywood’s prestigious events than in Bollywood’s desi events. For her desi fans she tweeted on to say that she plans to return to India very soon, but only for a few weeks it seems. Currently, she is keeping her fingers crossed for her maiden Hollywood venture, Hisss, which she revealed is in the editing stage and is set for release later this year.
